Start planning

Ceremonies rooted in meaning take time to prepare with care. For legal unions, a timeline of 6 to 12 months is ideal to ensure all legal and spiritual elements are honoured. For handfastings, betrothals, and vow renewals, a minimum of 3 months is recommended to allow the ceremony to be thoughtfully crafted in alignment with your story and intentions.

For funerals, end-of-life blessings, and transformational or healing rites, I understand that time is often tender and immediate. These ceremonies will be met with deep respect, gentle responsiveness, and compassionate presence.

If you’re ready to explore a ceremony together, or simply wish to ask a question, I welcome your message.

Land Acknowledgement – Unama’ki / Cape Breton

With deep respect and gratitude, Sacred Steps acknowledges that the land on which we live, gather,

and hold ceremony is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.

This land, known as Unama’ki, is one of the seven traditional districts of Mi’kma’ki,

the homeland of the Mi’kmaq Nation.

We honour the enduring spirit, culture, and teachings of the Mi’kmaq,

and recognize their sovereignty and sacred relationship to this land, water, and sky.

In all that we do, may we walk gently, listen deeply, and act with reverence—

for the ancestors, for the land, and for the generations to come.
