Booking Terms & Conditions
By booking Sacred Steps Celebrant, you are entering into a ceremonial agreement grounded in clarity, respect, and care. These Booking Terms & Conditions exist to support both the couple and the celebrant, ensuring your ceremony is held with presence and ease.
Booking & Deposit

A non-refundable deposit (as stated on the booking page) is required to secure your ceremony date. Once the deposit is received and booking is confirmed, the date is reserved exclusively for you and removed from availability.

A 14-day grace period applies from the time of booking, during which a deposit may be refunded if cancellation occurs. After this period, the deposit becomes non-refundable, in accordance with the Refund Policy published on this website.
Payment Schedule

The remaining balance is due according to the payment schedule outlined in your booking agreement. All fees must be paid in full prior to the ceremony date unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Failure to complete payment by the agreed date may result in cancellation of services.
Ceremony Services

Ceremony fees include consultation, ceremony preparation, ritual design, and officiation on the agreed date and location. Any additional services requested beyond the original agreement may incur additional fees and will always be discussed in advance.
Travel & Extended Ceremony Fees

For ceremonies held outside the immediate Cape Breton region, additional travel fees apply. These fees reflect the distance, travel time, vehicle use, and the care required to arrive grounded and fully present for your ceremony.
Travel fees may include:

Distance-based or travel-day fees for extended driving

Overnight accommodation fees when travel requires arrival the day before or departure the day after the ceremony

Any associated travel-related costs outlined in your quote

All travel and overnight fees are clearly itemized in your booking agreement and form part of the total investment.
Overnight Accommodation

When extended travel requires an overnight stay, an overnight fee is applied. This ensures adequate rest, preparation time, and presence for your ceremony. Overnight arrangements and fees are outlined in your booking agreement.
Government Paperwork & Legal Requirements

For legal marriages, all required government paperwork and registration fees are the responsibility of the couple and are itemized separately in your quote. Sacred Steps Celebrant will complete and submit required documentation as agreed.
Cancellations & Refunds

All cancellations are subject to the Refund Policy published on this website. Refund eligibility, where applicable, is based on the notice period provided prior to the ceremony date.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
Rescheduling

If rescheduling is required, Sacred Steps Celebrant will make reasonable efforts to accommodate a new date, subject to availability. Travel fees, government fees, or other costs may need to be adjusted if circumstances change.
Outdoor & Public Location Ceremonies

Ceremonies held outdoors or in public or natural locations (including coastal, park, or landmark settings) are subject to weather conditions, public access, safety considerations, and local regulations. Sacred Steps Celebrant cannot be held responsible for interruptions, access limitations, or environmental conditions beyond reasonable control.
Force Majeure
-
In the unlikely event that Sacred Steps Celebrant is unable to perform services due to illness, emergency, severe weather, or circumstances beyond reasonable control, every effort will be made to arrange a suitable alternative. Liability is limited to the return of fees paid, excluding non-recoverable expenses.
Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a deposit and confirming a booking, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Booking Terms & Conditions and the Refund Policy outlined on this website.
Cancellation Fees
Should the client choose to cancel after confirming a booking, the following cancellation fees will apply:

6 months or more before the ceremony: deposit is forfeited

3 to 6 months before the ceremony: 50% of the agreed fee
-
1 to 2 months before the ceremony: 75% of the agreed fee
-
Less than 1 month before the ceremony: full fee is payable
All cancellations must be made in writing (email or letter). Unfortunately, verbal cancellations by phone cannot be accepted.
